Brad Sparling

Head Coach

Brad Sparling is the Head Boys Golf Coach at Dublin Jerome High School, where he has helped continue the tradition of excellence within one of Ohio’s premier high school golf programs.

Sparling took over the Jerome program in 2024, leading the Celtics to a fourth-place finish at the OHSAA Division I State Championship in his first season. In 2025, Jerome won the OHSAA Division I State Championship, broke multiple all-time state scoring records during the postseason, and finished the season ranked No. 1 in the nation.

His philosophy at Jerome centers on developing more than great golfers. The program emphasizes high standards, accountability, preparation, competitive toughness, leadership, team culture, and personal growth. The goal is to prepare players to perform at their highest level while representing Dublin Jerome with class on and off the golf course.

Prior to coaching at Jerome, Sparling built an extensive background in collegiate golf, junior golf, player development, and college recruiting. He coached at Duke University, where he was part of two NCAA Women’s Championship teams and helped the Duke men win their first ACC Championship in 42 years. He later coached at The Ohio State University, helping the Buckeyes reach the NCAA Championship in both of his seasons with the program.

In addition to coaching at Dublin Jerome, Sparling is President and Founder of Play Golf in College, a player-development and college-recruiting advisory company he founded in 2009. Sparling is also the author of four books focused on player development, coaching, junior golf, and sports parenting:

  • Becoming Elite
  • Building Elite Programs
  • Start Here: The Top 50 Mistakes in Junior Golf
  • The Lighthouse Golf Parent

Golf has also been an important part of his family: all three of his children went on to play NCAA Division I college golf.

At Dublin Jerome, Sparling’s focus remains straightforward: build a championship-level program, develop outstanding young men, and uphold the standards and tradition of Celtic Golf.
